In 1993, we had Chevrolet Omega, 2.0 with 130cv in Brazil (it looks pretty much like Lotus Carlton). But it was a ethanol engine.

Is the same engine of ethanol Monza 2.0MPFI and Kadett (Opel Kadett E) 2.0 MPFI... Ethanol is fantastic. Now in Brazil we hav Flex Fuel Cars (Ethanol/Petrol/Or Misture), a Chevrolet Corsa (Vauxhall Corsa) with a fantastic 1.4 with 99cv (Only Petrol) and 105cv (only Ethanol).

PS: Mark u wrote about Cavalier and Ascona, but Ascona wasn't sell in UK, no?

There was a period before 1986 that you could buy Opels and Vauxhall at the same garage.
Over the years all the GM cars available in the UK were badged only Vauxhall.

Up to 1975 Vauxhalls were a completely different design to Opels and designed in UK.
Nowadays Vauxhall are totally German designs and are produced all over Europe.
Vauxhall is just a brand name now, it is unique to UK. Everywhere else in Europe a GM car is an Opel.

I drive an Opel Astra?
It was imported from Cyprus because cars in 1990-2003 were cheaper to buy from abroad.
UK/Cyprus/Malta/Ireland are the only countries in Europe which have right hand steering.

The Opels sold in England were right hand drive (RHD).
It is a strange situation. Vauxhall is a UK only brand. There are no Opel dealers in UK.
The only differences between an Opel and a Vauxhall are the badges.

Import duty/tax for the UK is only about 17%

You may not be aware but 2 door Vauxhall Cavaliers were only available for one year (1982) and only with a 1.3 engine.
I only know of two of these cars and none are on the road.
